The Wolfpack welcome Ireland international hooker Bob Beswick. The 31 year old will have a dual role as player and head of strength and conditioning. Beswick started his career at Wigan Warriors, before stints with Widnes, Halifax, and most recently Leigh. He has proudly represented Ireland 25 times including the last two world cups and is the current Irish test captain. Bob is respected throughout the game and highly qualified pundits regard Bob as an elite rugby league player easily capable of playing regularly in the Super League.
Beswick has chosen the Toronto Wolfpack as his new focus, with a desire to progress at pace. Renowned for his attitude, commitment, and pure warrior-like approach to his profession, Beswick will be a valuable and key member of the Pack. Assistant coach Simon Finnigan was enthusiastic in his comments on the signing, “Bob is well respected throughout the game, and when he showed an interest in joining our team, it was a very easy decision. He is a competitor on the pitch, and has given wonderful service to all his previous clubs. He also forms part of our conditioning staff, with a view to his Wolfpack relationship being a long and successful one.”
Beswick added these comments, “I’m looking forward to working hard together, with a special group of people. We have the chance to do something that has never been done in Rugby League, and I consider myself very fortunate to be in this position. I can’t wait to get started, and look forward to meeting the fans in Toronto.”
