(Toronto) The Toronto Wolfpack have acquired welsh international prop forward Jake Emmitt. Emmitt who most recently played with the Leigh Centurions in the championship adds much needed experience to the Toronto forward pack. Emmitt started his career with St Helens before spells with Leigh, Castleford, Keighley, Salford, a second spell at Leigh and Swinton.
Emmitt is also an accomplished international player earning many caps for Wales. He featured in the 2013 World Cup and as recently as this year’s 2017 World Cup qualifiers. Torontowolfpack.com caught up with Jake and he had this to say about signing with Toronto; “Really looking to joining up with the team. It was a pretty easy decision to make when I saw the team they were putting together. It’s a coaching staff that I’ve worked with before and that I feel I played my best under. I look forward to rejoining them with a club that’s new and fresh, I can’t wait to start”
Paul Rowley was equally as enthused to reunite with Emmitt; “Signing Jake is a fantastic acquisition for several reasons. Not only is he reliable and a consistently a high performer, but he is a popular person off the field, that will help galvanize the squad. Jake knows the value of being amongst a tight group of players, and this is when he’s at his best. For this reason, myself, the staff, and all his teammates are looking forward to building a circle of trust and friendship that this fantastic game affords us.”
