Wolfpack face Super League side Salford in 5th round tie

(Toronto) Toronto Wolfpack will travel to the AJ Bell Stadium for a tasty tie with Super League side Salford Red Devils, in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup.

Toronto, who play in League 1, entered at the third round and have beaten Siddal and in a major upset, championship high fliers London Broncos in the fourth round.

Wolfpack Director of Rugby Brian Noble who once coached Salford himself reflected the mood in the team with these comments; “It’s a great tie, a hungry Wolfpack side against a Super League team playing good football. A massive challenge, a big hurdle to climb, isn’t that what the Challenge Cup is about? We relish this opportunity.”

The fifth-round games will be played on 22 and 23 April.

The remaining eight Super League teams – who finished in the top eight positions in last season’s table – will join the competition at the last 16 stage – round six.
