Having seen the regular season conclude with an impressive home win over Hemel Stags last time out, Toronto Wolfpack made a statement, making it 15 wins from as many games in their debut Kingstone Press League One campaign and their charge towards promotion shows no signs of slowing down.
As Super League’s regular season draws to a close this weekend, with the Super 8s imminent, League One is a week ahead and we are excited to announce that the League One Super 8s fixtures have been released.
The business end to the season throws up some enticing encounters for the Wolfpack, who, through merit of finishing the regular season in pole position, will enjoy four of the next seven games at the developing fortress Lamport Stadium.
In order to secure promotion to the Championship and cap off what has already been a highly successful years for the rugby league new boys, the Wolfpack face a number of tough encounters on both sides of the Atlantic.
There will certainly be no easy games as Toronto kick things off in a week’s time with a challenging trip to fourth placed York City Knights, who have enjoyed a good and resurgent season to date. This is the first of three consecutive away fixtures including the in-form Keighley Cougars before the team heading back out to Canada for a month of home games including two mouth-watering clashes with two Cumbrian sides, Whitehaven and Barrow, who currently sit in second and third respectively.
With the regular season competition points carrying over and the Wolfpack enjoying a three point cushion going into this vital stage of the season, Paul Rowley’s men will be going in all guns blazing to make sure they stay unbeaten to retain top spot and achieve automatic promotion to the Championship at the first time of asking.
