Toronto Wolfpack are pleased to confirm our Broadcast partners for the 2018 season. In Canada both Game TV and CBC Sports (online) will have the rights to show Toronto Wolfpack home and away matches in the 2018 Rugby League Championship, encompassing both regular season and the play offs.
Toronto Wolfpack General Manager – Commercial, Scott Lidbury commented:
“Broadcast partnerships play a huge role in engaging our fans here in Canada. Showing home and away games on both Game TV and CBC Sports was instrumental in helping us raise our profile in 2017. We very much look forward to working together again for the new season.”
Game TV is owned and operated by Anthem Sports & Entertainment. The channel broadcasts game shows and reality television alongside sports-related programming. Supporters can watch Game TV through all major cable packages.
CBC Sports is operated by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canada’s national public broadcaster. The online stream service is free to view across Canada and allows supporters to watch on their mobile and computer devices.
“Thanks to our two partners, supporters are able to watch the Wolfpack whether they are at home, on the move or in their local sports bar.” Lidbury continued.
Premier Sports are also confirmed as the UK Broadcast Partner, showing both home and away matches (broadcast in the UK on SKY channel 428 in HD, 462 in SD and on Virgin channel 551). This includes being the host broadcaster for Wolfpack away games with footage provided to both CBC Sports and Game TV. For home games, Toronto Wolfpack will be working with broadcast partners to produce a new and improved live match feed.
The Rugby League Championship season opener between Leigh Centurions and Toronto Wolfpack at Leigh Sports Village will be the first match shown as part of the new partnership. The game kicks off at 3:00pm in the UK (live on Premier Sports) and 10:00am EST (live on Game TV and CBC Sports).
