Andy Ackers Re-Signs With The Wolfpack
25-year old Toronto Wolfpack playmaker Andy Ackers will get a shot at the top division in 2020 when he lines up for the transatlantic Club in the Super League after signing a two-year contract extension.
The enigmatic Ackers has thrilled Toronto fans for two full seasons with his trademark sprints out of dummy-half, desperate lunges for the try-line and tackling strength that belies his size. Originally hailing from Wigan, Ackers recently passed 150 career appearances, many of which came in Swinton Lions and London Broncos jerseys.
During his time with the Wolfpack, Ackers has not only hit the scoreboard consistently himself but his deceptive passes and clever runs have been the ignition switch for many more tries that wouldn’t have materialized without his hard work.
In 2019 Ackers has appeared in every fixture for the Wolfpack, including the Semi-Final and Playoff Final, and scored 12 tries, including one in his 150th game milestone. Now a critical piece of the Wolfpack on-field machine, Ackers will be looking to step his game up to another level in 2020, something everyone connected with the Club knows he will be able to achieve seamlessly.
