Player info
Known as ‘the Vegan Warrior’, Anthony Mullally was the first publicized vegan player in Super League during his time with Leeds Rhinos. He joined the Wolfpack early in the 2019 Season, a move that saw him link up with his former coach, Brian McDermott.
The front-rower was a crucial component of McDermott’s Leeds team that won multiple Super League titles as well as World Club Championships and Challenge Cups. Notoriously difficult to tackle and able to score a well-timed try, the Irish international has quickly become a vital part of the Wolfpack squad.
The 27-year-old took the field 23 times for the Wolfpack in 2019 including in both historic Playoff fixtures that saw the expansion side promoted to the Super League. The Irishman registered four tries across the season and was resolute in defence while also providing endless effort in attack, testing the oppositions lines at every opportunity.
Having gained invaluable experience throughout a 10-year career, Mullally has Clubs such as Huddersfield, Wakefield and Leeds on his resume and is sure to be a vital element of the Wolfpack’s maiden Super League campaign.
2020 is Mullallly’s first full year with the Toronto Club and he will undoubtably be thrilled at the long-term commitment of McDermott who has agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Club.
