One of six high-profile Wolfpack signings ahead of the 2019 Championship, Bodene Thompson came to Toronto after spending time in both the Super League and NRL. Hailing from New Zealand, Thompson made his professional debut in 2009 and has since become a dominant forward with a reputation for his tough and uncompromising playing style.
Talking the field in a majority of Wolfpack clashes in 2019, including both Postseason match-ups, Thompson has established himself as an important member of the Toronto squad ahead of his return to the Super League in 2020.
A veteran of almost 200 professional appearances, Thompson has played with the likes of West Tigers, the New Zealand Warriors, Leigh Centurions and Warrington Wolves in a career spanning continents, leagues and representative football.
Not a prolific try-scorer, Thompson scored four tries across the 2019 and saved his best for last with a crucial four-pointer on the final day of the season. His try went a long way to sealing the season for the Wolfpack and is sure to be one that he cherishes for many years to come.
At 31 years of age, Thompson still has plenty to offer the Wolfpack in the top division and he can expect his experience to be called on consistently throughout the Club’s maiden Super League campaign.
