Player info
Towering Australian Darcy Lussick joined the Wolfpack during the 2018 Season on the back of plying his trade in the NRL with Manly Sea Eagles and Parramatta Eels. At 6ft 4, Lussick is an imposing presence and has mastered the art of using his size and strength to his and his team’s advantage.
Missing just four games in 2019, Lussick played the role of enforcer for the Wolfpack, often charging at the opposition’s defensive line with the ball tucked under an arm. The step up to Super League will see the New South Welshman’s role become even more important in 2020 as Toronto look to establish themselves in the top division.
Not a prolific try-scorer, Lussick is at his best when laying crunching tackles in defence or punching holes in the opposition’s line before offloading to allow a teammate through the gap. He did register three of his own four-pointers in 2019, a personal best for the 30-year-old veteran.
An uncompromisingly tough player, Lussick has been known to fall foul of the referee’s whistle from time to time but it is his strong on-field demeanour that the Wolfpack are confident will translate perfectly to Super League Rugby. His eight years of experience will help to make the Club’s transition to the top division a smooth one and there are sure to be opposition players already nervous at the proposition of laying a tackle on the 114kg athlete.
