Explosive front rower Gadwin Springer was a big acquisition for the Wolfpack prior to what will be a defining season for the club in 2019.
The French international and Toulouse junior was one of six big signings announced by Toronto for their second season in the Championship as the club gear up to go one further than 2018 and achieve Super League status.
Springer has spent the last three years with Super League power house Castleford Tigers and was one of the most entertaining and hard hitting forwards running around in the top flight, with more than 50 appearances for the Tigers to his name.
Prior to that, Springer impressed enough at Toulouse to earn a deal with Challenge Cup holders Catalans and made his Super League debut for the Dragons in 2014.
Springer cuts an imposing figure, adding pure power and aggression to the Wolfpack’s middle unit, with the additional size making Toronto’s forward pack among the strongest in the second division.
At just 25 years old, Springer’s best rugby is still in front of him and, under the tuition of Brian McDermott and playing alongside a number of high-quality forwards, could take his game to new heights in Wolfpack colours in 2019.
