A Wolfpack player since the Club’s inception, Greg Worthington has been a senior figure in Toronto’s makeup from day one. The Bradford local made his name with both Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers before crossing to the Wolfpack after gathering Super League experience with Huddersfield Giants.
A serious knee injury halted Worthington’s consistent performances in 2018 and saw him unable to return to the field until mid-way through the 2019 campaign. Faultlessly positive, Worthington will have his sights set on a successful return to Super League in 2020
A veteran of over 200 career appearances spanning a nine-year career, Worthington has shown his worth to the transatlantic Toronto will be looking to recapture his best form in the upcoming season.
One of the most capped Wolfpack players, Worthington’s jovial nature and commitment to his role at the Club quickly ingratiated him to the culture and this was recognized by Head Coach Brian McDermott when he took over ahead of the 2019 Season. While he did not take the field during the 2019 Postseason, he had a solid second half of the season and was able to play a crucial role during the Club’s late-season charge towards promotion.
Now with a chance to ply his trade at the elite-level of Northern Hemisphere Rugby, Worthington is sure to be as passionate and devoted as ever to the cause, something that will undoubtedly see the mentally-strong athlete make an impact in 2020.
