How It Stands: Betfred Championship Playoffs

Just three teams remain in contention for the huge prize of Super League promotion after another huge weekend of Betfred Championship action. The Toronto Wolfpack have forged a path through to a Playoff Final on home soil on Saturday October 5th thanks to their victory over Toulouse.
Toulouse stay alive in 2019 as reward for their high finish in the standings at the end of the regular season and will face off against Featherstone Rovers next weekend after the West Yorkshire side defeated York City Knights 30-4 on Saturday 21 September.
The Preliminary Final will take place on Sunday 29 September at Stade Ernest-Argeles in France and will see the victor flying to Toronto for the October 5 Playoff Final.
Featherstone got the job done against York on the back of an unstoppable charge in the second half. Leading by just four points at half time (4-8), the Rovers piled on 22 unanswered points after the break to runaway with the victory and breath further life into their 2020 Super League ambitions.
The Rovers crossed the line through five individual scorers against York and Dane Chisholm had his radar aligned with the boot, taking five of the six opportunities presented to him.
The Wolfpack are set to welcome either Toulouse Olympique or Featherstone Rovers to Lamport Stadium for the all-or-nothing Playoff Final. They have faced Toulouse four times already in 2019, including the Semi-Final just played. The ledger currently sits art 3-1.
They have played the Rovers just twice and they have proved an extremely tough opponent. Round 11 in Featherstone, the Wolfpack won 23-14 and in Round 21 at Toronto they won 22-18 and gave up all 18 points in the second half.
Featherstone and Toulouse have met twice this season – Round 9 in France where Toulouse won 8-2 (0-2 at half time) and the final round of the season in Featherstone where the Rovers lost 24-26 after leading 18-8 at halftime. Dean Parata was the hero for Toulouse, scoring two tries off the bench.
