Andrew Dixon epitomises what it is to be the model professional. After coming up through the junior grades at his local club St Helens, the Wolfpack second rower quickly became one of the most consistent performers in Super League, notching up over 100 appearances across seven seasons with the Saints and Salford Red Devils combined.
Having linked up with Leigh Centurions in 2015, Dixon established himself as one of key members of Leigh’s promotion winning campaign in 2016 before following Wolfpack boss Paul Rowley from Lancashire to Toronto in a bid to replicate those fortunes.
Dixon doubles up as a player and strength and conditioning coach alongside Wolfpack teammate Bob Beswick, and commands the ultimate respect and appreciation from fellow players and coaches for what he does both on and off the field.
Used to playing on an edge, Dixon brings the same high level of performance to every game and instils confidence in those around him. An excellent defender and a player that makes very few errors, Dixon is an important part of the ethos and culture the club have established. If the Wolfpack are to go one better to secure promotion to Super League this season, he will be at the heart of it.
