- Ashton Sims
- 6ft 4in
Ashton Sims joined the Wolfpack for the 2018 season with a glowing rugby league CV. The veteran of other 300 first team games comes from an extremely elite rugby league family and is the eldest of three brothers (Tariq of St George Illawarra Dragons and Korbin of Brisbane Broncos) to be regulars in the NRL.
Sims made his NRL debut for St George in 2003 against Penrith Panthers and enjoyed healthy stints at both Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys before moving to the UK ahead of the 2015 season to join Warrington.
Sims swapped one Wolfpack for another in 2018 as he came to the club following an extremely successful three-year spell at the Wolves, where he played in both a Challenge Cup Final and Super League Grand Final.
Having just completed a historical World Cup campaign with Fiji, the veteran front rower adds experience and leadership to Toronto’s evolving squad and will no doubt lead from the front once again this year.
Well known for his unwavering physicality; combining explosive carries with dominant defence in the middle of the field, the acquisition of Sims adds some real steel to the Wolfpack’s forwards, making him an ideal addition for the rigours of the Championship.
