Young stand-off Blake Wallace is in his second year with the Wolfpack after signing as a relatively unknown talent ahead of the 2017 campaign. The Australian quickly became an extremely likable character at the club in League 1, proving very popular with the Wolfpack players and fans.
Injury limited Blake to just 11 appearances last season but he still managed to rattle up 7 tries for the season and has the record of scoring the club’s first ever try in a preseason friendly against Super League’s Hull FC before scoring the Wolfpack’s first ever try on Canadian soil against Oxford RLFC.
Wallace embraced life and rugby league in Canada immediately having being a bit of a journeyman in his native Australia, where he enjoyed spells in the second tier competition for both the Central Queensland Capras in the Queensland Cup and Illawarra Cutters in the New South Wales Cup.
This season sees a fully fit Wallace paired up with a fellow Australian halfback in Josh McCrone and the 25 year old will benefit massively from partnering such an experienced campaigner. The prospect of Wallace having more freedom to play alongside the organisation of an NRL veteran makes the stand-off a dangerous prospect for opposition defences this season.
