Wolfpack forward Jack Bussey comes into 2018 having being an integral part of the success of 2017 for the club in their first season in rugby league. Bussey signed for the club from Championship rivals London Broncos having originally risen through the ranks at Featherstone in the North of England.
A talented forward, who is comfortable in the front row, second row and at loose forward, with neat footwork and a tireless enthusiasm for work in both attack and defence, Bussey was one of the first forwards on the team sheet every week for Head Coach Paul Rowley. With the lure of Super League now in sight, Bussey’s experience at Championship level will see him up his game once again this season for the Wolfpack.
2017 showed everyone just how tough Bussey is mentally. With the unfortunate health scare of thyroid cancer midway through the season, the Wolfpack man had emergency surgery but, in an astounding turn around in recovery, he was remarkably back on the field just one month later and scored a well deserved try against South Wales Ironmen.
If the Wolfpack are to secure promotion to Super League this time around, the squad will looks to the mental resilience of Bussey to lead them through a division that will invariably throw up some tough challenges this season.
