Nick Rawsthorne’s inclusion in the Wolfpack roster for 2018 is a promising one as the youngster has bags of potential. Coming to the club from Challenge Cup holders Hull FC, Rawsthorne joined Paul Rowley’s squad in January looking for a break out season and some consistent first team rugby in what is sure to be an exciting Championship campaign.
A Halifax lad from the North of England, Rawsthorne has experienced both codes of rugby but focused on rugby league as a career, playing for the Leeds Rhinos academy and then Halifax’s reserves before impressing enough to make his senior debut in 2016, making seven league appearances for the Blue and Whites.
After moving to Hull ahead of 2017, with a chance to develop and prove himself at Super League level, Rawsthorne made the breakthrough into the senior side. He played three times for the Black and Whites and scored his first Super League try against the Catalans Dragons in France.
Rawsthorne’s superb pace and nimble footwork make him a difficult prospect for defenders, whilst his ability to cover numerous positions in the backline make him a valuable addition to any side. The fact that he is still only in the fledgling stages of his career makes him an exciting prospect for the future, as the club are keen to see him develop into a future star of the game.
