Rich Whiting returns to the Championship in 2018 with the Wolfpack, having been a key member of the promotion winning campaign from League 1 last year, with his eyes firmly on taking the sport’s newest club to the very top of the game.
Deciding to join Toronto after a brief spell with Championship rivals Leigh, one of rugby league’s most versatile and dependable players was a huge signing for the Wolfpack in their bid to establish prolonged success.
Whiting is one of the most experienced players running around, making his Super League debut in 2004 with Hull FC where he was crowned the Young Player of the Year in his debut season. From there, he went on to win a Challenge Cup in 2005 with Hull in a career in East Yorkshire spanning over 10 years and 250 appearances.
Affectionately known as ‘Super Man’ due to his unique ability to play pretty much every position in a rugby league team, you know what you are going to get from the Wolfpack veteran every week.
Whiting is unbelievably consistent and reads the game better than most making him a constant threat on the edges of the field as well as an extremely effective defender. His experience and professionalism has been crucial to the club’s success to date.
