Toronto Wolfpack Partner with Bike Share Toronto
Toronto Wolfpack will be rolling around their city with ease in 2019 thanks to a partnership with Bike Share Toronto that will see all players gaining access to the novel and widespread system.
The partnership will see the two collaborating over the course of the 2019 Season and comes as the Wolfpack prepare for their Betfred Championship clash against Bradford Bulls at Lamport Stadium on Saturday, May 4th.
Jon Pallett, Head of Marketing & Communications for the Wolfpack, discussed the natural fit.
“As a professional sporting team we are always promoting the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle, so this partnership aligns perfectly with our values and beliefs.
“Toronto Wolfpack have a rich partnership with many departments at the City of Toronto and we are excited to continue that into 2019 and beyond.
“We look forward to working with Bike Share Toronto and sculpting our calf muscles for the summer months!”
Among things for fans to look forward to in 2019, players will be taking part in a coordinated ride to training and fans can also keep a keen eye across social media channels for exclusive content featuring Wolfpack players.
Several Wolfpack players, including Andy Ackers, Adam Sidlow and former star Jake Emmitt, have been avid users of the system during their time in Toronto. In 2018, Bike Share Toronto named the trio October ‘Members of the Month’.
Ackers, who has featured in all 2019 Season games to this point, spoke of his love of the system in 2018.
“Our time in Toronto is very precious and so it is great to have a quick and efficient method of travel around the city. We use the bikes on a daily basis and they provide us with a perfect way to wind down after training.”
Players have been regularly spotted riding to and from Lamport Stadium and George Brown College, their Canadian residence. With three stations – King St + Joe Shuster Way, Liberty St + Fraser Ave Green P and King St W + Fraser Ave – located directly beside the stadium, getting to and from Wolfpack games by bike has never been easier for players and fans alike. The Bike Share system also allows them to freely explore the GTA in style while providing the opportunity to mix with the locals and spread the word about the Wolfpack.
